In Character Design for Comics and Animation course, students will learn the structure of figure drawing and create a range of characters unique to them.
Small groups of 5-8 students per class will give the opportunity to get an individual instructions from the teacher.
Students will practice outfitting each character with costumes, equipping them with props, and designing the universe they exist in. By the end of this course, students will have formed the base of their comic book series employing techniques professionals use.
When we think about the history of art, comic books are often left out. However, they shouldn’t be. Sequential art is challenging, creative, and brings the worlds of art and literature together. This course will teach students to explore the world of comic arts.
Fees are paid by term. It is prorated for students who join late. It is subject to availability. Your credit card is not charged until we verify all the fees and apply discounts.

This course is an extension of the Ontario Curriculum of Fine Art but we are not exempt from HST, so a 13% HST is applicable.
Students mainly use graphite pencils, colour pencils and markers. They will also use watercolour and acrylic paint for several projects.
Yes, all the materials are included in the tuition fees. We want our students to experience a fully equipped studio using industry quality materials and equipment.
